Amazing location- calm and the most incredible view. Interesting experience to sleep in the rock. Very friendly reception. They let me leave my luggage before the check in and even proposed coffee and breakfast.

Really loved staying here. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and the staff are so freindly, helpful and welcoming. The hotel is located far enough from the main tourist area so its nice and quiet, but still close enough to walk. Location makes it so easy to access the Sassi. It's on one of the main walking paths, which is helpful for beating the crowds for sunrise and sunset. Being able to walk around the Sassi at night once all the tourists have gone is an utterly unreal experience! I wanted to experience staying in a cave room and it didnt dissappoint. Yes it was small; I had one of the small single cave rooms, but it was very cosy, clean, quiet and had everything I needed. Loved the buffet breakfast. Good selection of food and fruit, and you can choose to eat in the dining room or the outdoor terrace, speaking of which... That outdoor terrace is absolutely amazing. The view of the Sassi from here is spectacular. Being able to sit and have breakfast, a sunset drink or just admire the view in peace is an absolute pleasure. Loved Matera and loved this hotel, i'll definately be coming back at some point!

Stunning location - amazing views from the terrace at the back of the hotel. Great to be able to stay in a cave room - very special experience. Our room was very comfortable and well equiped. Lovely breakfast in breakfast room. Staff very helpful . Great location as accessible by road but quiet.

The hotel was AWESOME! Great location away from the main tourist areas Incredible views. Really cool rooms. We slept in what was one a cave that housed 3 generations of a family plus their animals. It was obviously converted into a luxury suite. Breakfast was the best. The staff were incredible. Both David's at the reception are outstanding. We're certainly going back again!
