If this is your first time in Sri Lanka, staying with Lucky and his family is an absolute must. Lucky is so much more than a host — he’s practically a national institution. From the moment you arrive, he goes above and beyond: he drives you where you need to go, organizes trips and reliable drivers, explains Sri Lankan customs and everyday life, helps you get discounts at hotels, and is always ready with advice or practical help. When my laptop suffered a complete system crash, Lucky immediately recommended a trusted friend who fixed it within just a couple of days — a lifesaver. His place itself is fantastic: right next to the beach, close enough to Matara for convenience, yet far enough away to enjoy peace, quiet, and a real break from tourist crowds. Warm hospitality, genuine care, and unforgettable local insight — staying with Lucky truly made our trip.

Very nice family, close to the beach for surfing. Comfortable kitchen space to sit and eat. Very nice breakfast. They were very helpful with our travelling plans.
