Miguel “Lovely, quiet base for exploring magical Marvão”

A wonderful little hotel that was the perfect base for our visit. It’s located in the peaceful lower part of the village, but just a 10-minute to the castle on the mountain. Our room was simple, clean, and very comfortable. We were even lucky enough to have a view of the castle from our window, which was a lovely surprise in the morning. The family who runs it is incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was a tasty, simple start to the day. For the price, it’s excellent value, quiet, authentic, and perfectly located. We would definitely stay here again.

The location next to the river is nice despite being close to the main road over the river bridge. Our room had a small terrace with views of the river and Marvão. Our dinner in the onsite restaurant and breakfast were very good. We knew parking close to the hotel was limited so arrived early and managed to find space in front of the main entrance
