I recently stayed at Kruger Maroela Lodge in Marloth Park and honestly, I’m already planning my return trip! I booked one of their private chalets, and it was everything I needed and more — stylish, spotless, and super comfortable. The design is modern with a touch of bushveld charm, and the private splash pool and braai area made it feel like my own little safari sanctuary. The cherry on top? One of the bathrooms had a private outdoor shower — nothing beats rinsing off under the stars with the sounds of the wild in the background! Speaking of sounds… the lodge borders a lion park, so while I was sitting by the fire, drink in hand, I could actually hear lions roaring in the distance. Goosebumps! It’s a self-catering stay, which is perfect for a longer visit, but I have to shout out their outdoor restaurant — it’s a gem! They have a proper pizza oven (and yes, the pizzas are that good), plus a great selection of classic South African dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for a wood-fired margherita or something more local, they’ve got you covered. If you’re looking for a peaceful, wild, and wonderfully comfortable getaway, Kruger Maroela Lodge is it. Just don’t be surprised if you fall a little in love with the place — I sure did.
