Antonella, the host was very friendly and helpful. She also proved to be a very effective teacher of Italian! The place is perched on a hill with a fabulous view of the sea, the lighthouse Stilo, Monasterace, and rolling hills. Extremely soothing. There is a great restaurant 150 metres away (but regrettably we used it only once, since the place is basically open every day during the high season - otherwise only at weekends). Nice beaches are very close and easy to reach; you can also see old villahes set on hills - many of them will now have marinas located at the seafront. The breakfast was standard, but if you wanted eggs or cold meat you could get it for a few more euros. Antonella always left a thermos of freshly brewed coffee for us - a wonderful treat.
