We had a 3 day stay at the GartenTraum in Marienmunster. The owners, Jens and Lisabeth, are very friendly people, easy to connect and conventiently enough they both speak German and English. You rent the apartment below their house. There's a carport in front of the house to park your car at no extra cost. We got a warm welcome from Jens and the cat (can't remember his name, the funny one Jens, that is curious) which was very nice. After the tour through the apartment, we got some tips from Jens on where to eat. We tried an Italian Restaurant in Schwalenberg which was good. For a supermarket and other stores you need, you can go to Höxter, about a 15-minute drive away. Then the apartment: it is wonderful. All rooms are equipped with automatic light sensors (and manual buttons), except for the bedroom. The sitting room and bedroom have automatic shutters, the bedroom has manual shutters. From the living room, you look out onto a peaceful garden. After that, about 50 meters away, there's a road. And after that there is nothing so it's nice and quiet. We were only the 2nd people staying here, so little bits and bobs still needed to be finished. Having said that, it looks great. The kitchen, bathroom etc, everything is (or looks) brand new. There's a door that connects your appartment to the owners appartment, but Jens explained very clearly that it would stay locked until we have left. The garden is wonderful too, a nice and quiet place. There's a sitting lounge in the garden with 2 sun beds. If you like hiking, the Externsteine were about half an hour away. And the nearby village of Schwalenberg has the Stadtwasser hike (Medieval irrigation canal). Our stay was great here and we would definitely recommend staying at the Gartentraum to anyone!
