The host and the caretaker were super responsive to my questions and always friendly and offering suggestions on restaurants, explaining on how things work on the peninsula etc. The house is well organized, the two suites are on two different floors, the house had enough space for four adults without feeling cramped. There is a covered deck with a hammock, the group of houses has a shared garden and areas to sit and read outside. You can hear the ocean from the house! The beach is a 5 min walk from the house to a stretch of beach gloriously free of kiosks or vendors selling to you. But if anyone in your group wants that you can walk 10 minutes south down the beach and find a variety of places to eat and drink in all price ranges, you can find vendors selling handmade jewelry, clothes etc. There is a fruit and vegetable market, small supermarket, and various restaurants, a pharmacy, 20 mins walking distance inland. And 30 mins walking north on the beach brings you to another enclave with beach bars and a few restaurants. For those who enjoy hiking, in about 3 hours at low tide you can walk along the beach to the head of the peninsula and on to the larger beach village of Barra Grande. We read, played frisbee and football (soccer), played board games and had a holiday that really recharged out batteries!
