We stayed here just one night as part of our New England road trip and wished we stayed longer! We arrived a bit before check-in hoping to just be able to park up and walk into the town for Northshire Books (which you must visit, it's fabulous). Not only were we able to access our room, we were granted a free upgrade to a king suite that was available right away! In addition, there's a guest laundry which we really needed after a few weeks on the road. (coin operated, it was $1 for the wash, 50cents for about 45mins drying time, you can get detergent at reception) Just want to give a shout out to Elle at reception, she was brilliant and so friendly. She even immediately recognised us as Scottish (not Australian, Irish or Welsh which we'd had previously:) and was so helpful with everything. We were almost skipping along to the bookshop (Northshire Books, you have to visit!) with glee as we'd just been on the road for a long few weeks and had varying levels of quality in our accommodation. The area is so lovely and walkable too – we went to the cafe and bookstore, then had an amble along the main street and around the mill pond and wee park area. What a nice place! The room was huge and so comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very good, great tea and coffee. Loads of seating options if its busy. We decided to go for dinner across the road at Seasons, but couldn't find it! Then it started to rain – the heaviest rain I've seen for years. Which should have been a disaster but we took shelter in a pizza place and dried off while sampling the finest stone-baked pizzas we've had! (try Sam's Wood Fired Pizza!). There was some works going on at the roundabout next to the hotel – on further investigation its to be a brewery which for us, is a big bonus as we love our craft beer.
