The fine print
There is a transfer from the bus stop to the guesthouse. Please inform Aspros Potamos in advance if you want to use this service.The stone built houses of Aspros Potamos, originally built 300 years ago, use only renewable energy sources. The property’s solar photovoltaic system is used to illuminate the grounds and gardens, reading lamps above beds, bathroom light, and also refrigerators in the kitchen. Also hot water for the shower is generated with this system. Candles and oil lamps provide the main lighting in the houses. There are no electrical sockets in the houses. At the reception room, guests can charge any electrical appliances. In the same room there is a library, internet and WiFi network, all free of charge.

We had an incredible time at Aspros Potamos. This is such a special place and so different from everywhere else in the area. You're sheltered in a beautiful valley that feels so peaceful and private. The whole place is built out of the rock and feels so in keeping with the natural world around it. Each room is unique but they all have their own bathroom, kitchen and terrace. Michaela was so kind and welcoming and helped us with sorting taxis and anything we asked about. Definitely get the breakfast - it was delicious! Perfect for large groups and families as you can all rent your own little house but all be in the same place. We can't wait to go back! Thank you Michaela and everyone at Aspros Potamos for making our stay so special.

We had an amazing stay at aspros potamos, beautiful old village renovated with such good taste, the room was very clean and inviting, with great clean sheets and towels and amazing natural soap..., though one room without air-conditioning was a bit too hot, but we did have fans. Michaela was so kind and helpful and gave us a lot of good ideas of what's nice to do in the area. We would highly recommend a visit to the village Pefki and a dinner at the "piperia" restaurant...

This was by far the best place we have stayed in Crete! Although we ve booked last minute after a change in plans, it proved to be such a nice surprise! This place is ideal for anyone who seeks something more genuine, authentic, traditional and truly Cretan (not touristic). Its also ideal for relaxation and putting away everything that needs to be put away.. Extra bonus: the fantastic and extremely welcoming and hospitable Michaela! What a place and what an experience! Thank you so much for the fantastic job you ve done with this place and we shall definitely come again!
