10 out of 10! This was our third visit to Koh Samui and I think this was my favourite of all the hotels we've stayed over the years. We had two rooms, an ocean view villa for my wife and I and a garden view villa next door for our grown up daughters. Both rooms were exceptional and felt very spacious and luxurious. If I'd booked a hotel room of this size and standard in Europe it would have cost a fortune so it was amazing value! The bathrooms were huge and very clean and stylish. The ocean view was lovely and being able to open the door between the two rooms when we wanted to was really handy. Mae Nam is a little bit quieter than Boh Phut where we stayed last year, but we quite liked that. We walked along the beach in the evenings where there are a couple of nice little beach bar/restaurants, and the hotel restaurant is very nice too. If you do want a bit more action then I think it was about a 20 minute walk or 300 bhat taxi to Boh Phut (Fishermans village). But we actually rented scooters while we were there which meant we could go wherever we wanted and explore all over the island. We rented the scooters from the hotel which made it a lot easier and they were actually quite good value I thought. The pool is lovely and the beach was very nice. The hotel is built right up to the shore so the beach is short, but there's miles of lovely beach either side which was virtually deserted when we were there. We mostly stayed by the pool which is on the beach. The staff were amazing and always super friendly and helpful. A special mention for Tien who runs the restaurant and was always very happy smiley and chatty in the morning when we came for breakfast or dinner, and for Boss who looks after guest relations and organised lots of fun trips for us including a day trip to Koh Phangang, the Than Sadet national park, and to the Muay Thai boxing which was great fun. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going back!
