Located right in Madrid city centre, Hostal Mayor is 50 metres from Madrid’s famous Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor Squares. It offers a 24-hour reception and rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Quiet, the nice lady at the reception, very nice view - we had a room with a view on Calle Mayor. Read some reviews about being noisy. Of course it is a bit, but its central, it s normal.

Excellent location! Beautiful old building but inside new, renovated, perfectly clean. Luisa is very sweet and helpful! Would come back 100%.

Nice lady caretaker living onsite, great location close Mayor. Very clean and nice bathroom in the first room. Rooms serviced daily. stored my luggage on day of leaving without charge.

The best thing about the Hostal was the location so near Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, you could get anywhere walking. The room was small but comfortable. And the host was helpful. If I go back to Madrid, I will repeat.

The location is perfect - no need for taxi to go around Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Added to it is that the taxi stand is practically in front of Hostal Mayor. Lots of food places nearby. There's an elevator which is very handy, and an air-conditioner. And there's Museo de Jamon on the street level. Can't go wrong with that.

The location is perfect. 150m from the plaza. The little balcony was nice. Place is old, but clean and the lift, although small goes to the 3rd floor where the Hostal is located. Taxi's park in front of the hostal. Cost to airport was 33euro.
