The location was amazing - just a stone's throw from Puerta del Sol and the Sol metro station. (Photo shows the view from the hotel office window down to the square) Right in the heart of the shopping area and Spain, round the corner from the Km 0 mark, with lots of dining options around. It's in a pedestrian-only area so if you need a taxi, you would need to carry your luggage to between 80-200m to a street where you can hail one. The hotel has an elevator which helps a lot, but it's tiny. It was Spain's national day weekend when we were there with concerts in the square but we had a very quiet room facing the back (and hence a view of hardware out the window but at least fresh air) Water pressure was strong and water hot quickly. The staff at reception are on hand 24hrs to answer questions etc and even helped to carry a particularly heavy bag to our room (we are 2 senior ladies) The room was cleaned and new towels provided every day (we stayed for 2 nights) Price was a bit more expensive because of National Day on Oct 12 but owise really good value given the location
