The fine print
Please note that a closed private parking is available 300 metres from the property, according to availability and upon reservation. The parking is available from 14:00 on the day of arrival and until 12:00 on the day of departure. Guests are required to check-in before going to the parking.Please note that a number of services are available for cyclists including:
- a closed courtyard for 4 bicycles maximum
- rental of a parking box for more than 4 bicycles at a EUR 14 extra fee
- free laundry service for cyclists' clothes
- free access to a microwave in the kitchen of the hotel

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of space to store bags and clothing. The location is excellent, in a safe neighbourhood with a lot of sites and shopping streets wihin walking distance.

For a special birthday stay in Lyon I had chosen the Simplon because of its good location to explore all of Lyon, its traditional appeal and its parking. The room was a good size and the bathroom was clean. The staff were all pleasant.

I can say only good things about the hotel. The location is a little away from the train stations, but very close to the old city. Rigth next to the hotel there is a small shop to buy water or tea, which was very helpful. The hotel stuff was superb, very polite and very pleasant to talk to. The room was always very clean and I must say very cosy. In general the whole atmosphere of the hotel was very nice. The breakfast was excellent (though I'd suggest a sign on where to find the hot water/tea/coffee as it's not obvious and the little hall seemed like hotel personnel area)
