I’d seen mixed reviews, but actually this is a clean, decent budget hotel - with very helpful staff. It doesn’t have a lift which will be a problem for some. It isn’t right in the centre of Luebeck, but as we did driven it meant we could park the car, and explore the city on foot, which is perfect for us, and meant we could have a nice meal, wander home along the river - very beautiful- and just the right distance to walk off the meal - all ready for a good night sleep - which the hotel does well - and head off in the car after a quick buffet breakfast the following day.

It's an Ibis Budget and therefore you know the score. It was clean and actually comfortable. The ability of our rooms window to block out the street noise from the roundabout and frequent emergency vehicle sirens when closed was, frankly, astonishing! Free private parking within a short walk to the Altstadt is always a benefit when others charge.

Clean, comfortable, functional. Carpark was big and easy to enter. And free. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower hot and spacious. Breakfast was much better than I expected. Fresh hot croissants, meats, cheeses, bread, cereal, yogurt etc. And GOOD coffee.

The hotel was the cheapest option available at the time with a price tag of 115,- considering key factors in choosing hotel - free parking and breakfast included. The location viz-a-viz the old town was okay, though the passing traffic was loud and since there was no A/C, we had to keep the window open all night for the air to change. The breakfast was ok, nothing special but we didn't expect much. Parking was free and much space.
