We would definitely recommend Villa Althaea. The owner Eva was so welcoming. Great communication throughout and so thoughtful, to stock up with home cooked food and shopping, and provide great local knowledge for places to eat and trips out. The villa was perfect, so much space, the outside area was great with lots of places to sit and admire the view and even games of table tennis. Having a heated pool meant we were able to swim every day, even with our trip in April. Great location, we were able to explore Rethymno, with day trips to Kournas lake, Prevail beach, Bali, the Imbros gorge and nearby caves. There were also many lovely tavernas just 10 mins drive away.

Everything was perfect. Although our flight was delayed and we arrive at midnight, Eva was waiting with a smile, stocked fridge and Lasagna in the oven! House is very clean, has everything you need and much more. If you think of anything, they have it. House was cleaned mid stay. You get more towels than in a hotel. The bed sheets are hotel quality, the AC works perfectly. Eva spoiled us with mid stay treats and departure gifts.. The pool is clean and refreshing. The management company handling the property calls every few days to check if all is good. They offer concierge services just a whatsapp away. Rethymno is 10 min drive. You need a car.
