Country houses Overview

Cerdeira - Home for Creativity houses an arts and crafts school, is hidden in Serra da Lousã and offers traditional units built in schist surrounded by an undulating landscape. These houses have been restored with ecological and regional materials. All houses have central heating and provide great comfort in winter and summer. The property is 10 km from Lousã.
All 2-storey houses at Cerdeira - Home for Creativity are self-sufficient and combine typical architecture with modern interiors. The houses include electric heating, a wood stove and a basket of firewood upon arrival. Shared accommodation in a dormitory is also available.
Guests can watch the deer as they roam the village at night. This house is ideal for enjoying nature in the comfort of a rustic village.
Breakfast is prepared daily by Café da Videira and can be enjoyed on the terrace or in the covered area next to the café overlooking the valley.
If you want to taste regional cuisine, it is possible to pre-order meals, which will be delivered in the comfort of the house. A selection of regional products is available at an extra cost. Dinner is available upon request. You will enjoy Wi-Fi access in all areas and rooms.
Outdoor activities such as river descents, guided hikes, jeep tours and creative experiences can be arranged. Cerdeira - Home for Creativity is located about 40 km from the university city of Coimbra.

With a privileged view, Casa do Forno is a small charming two-floor schist house decorated in cheerful tones. Entrance to the house is through the ground floor where there is a bathroom, kitchen, and dining area with an inviting traditional wood burner. The internal staircase accesses the upper floor which has two twin beds. This room hosts a traditional oven, hence the house's name. This floor also gives access to an outdoor patio, ideal for reading or for taking small meals.

House Staircase is located at one of the village's highest points and is a welcoming two-floor house with a beautiful view of the village. The ideal house for families or travelers looking for a space in harmony with nature. The bathroom is on the first floor, which also features a double and a single bed, perfect for families. The terrace in front of the house is ideal for reading or enjoying meals at the end of the day. The height of the ground floor is 1.90m.

Absolutely everything! The most magical place that we've been to in Portugal. And we have been across all country. This is definitely one of the best stays we had so far. Very unique experience. Loved every single detail about it. So much attention to detail! I can write a book about this fairytale experience:) Would recommend with all my heart!

I loved the location, a tiny village in the middle of the mountains, the air was fantastic, complete quietness and peace, wonderful views, a spacious and cozy house. I really loved it and want to go back there soon!!

When we arrived, we parked in the car park and made our way down & up to the reception. The staff informed us that they had upgraded our room! Which was a massive surprise and we were very grateful. Communication on booking’s chat was easy and we were able to organise an arrival basket which was fantastic cheese & wine. The area itself is so beautiful. We went during a particularly cold time, but felt comfortable with all of the room heating. The surrounding walks are well marked, and the fresh water stream was refreshing and delicious. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was delightful.

A beautiful little cosy place in the mountains, perfect place to get away from it all. Staff were really friendly. Breakfasts fantastic with lots of choice. We managed to get to see some deer when hiking in the area and a little fox came visiting in the evening.
