A lovely characterful building. The room was clean and comfortable. The furnishings were fine. A kettle in the room was useful and we could have helped ourselves to tea and coffee downstairs if we'd had time. Parking is available for free at the weekends in the surrounding streets and limited on site for £12 a day.

Beautiful period property, sympathetically decorated, communal spaces and a lovely aspect. Situated on a quiet road considering you are in London but only a 5 minute walk to lovely places to eat and drink. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very restful nights sleep, would definitely stay here again

This friendly guesthouse-type hotel was perfect for my needs as a lone visitor who needed somewhere clean, comfortable and relaxing to stay (and recover) during a week of dance classes. Having outlined the reasons for my stay in advance I was assigned a groundfloor single room with a one-and-a-half size bed which I found very comfortable (the mattress was just fine for me, though this particular one might have been rather firm for some - I would checking on this in advance). I needn't have worried about room size, and the somewhat smaller single room I was shown next door would also have been perfectly acceptable. I appreciated the convenience of the nearby kitchen, which I used for simple tasks. Altogether, I found Balham Lodge a friendly and very pleasant place to stay - so much so that I was genuinely sorry to leave and would certainly be happy to return.
