Hostel Overview

Placed at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from technology. WiFi is offered in public areas. Tasty food including a freshly cooked breakfast is on offer in the comfortable dining area.
At over 360 metres above sea level, this former mountain lodge is ideally located for trails up Snowdon. Guests can also enjoy treks exploring the Snowdonia National Park and its many hills and mountains.
There is a dining room, and a kitchen for self-catering guests. The YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass also has its own bar and restaurant.
The town of Caernarfon with its famous Castle and the picturesque Welsh coastline can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The popular Snowdon Mountain Railway is found in Llanberis, just a 10-minute drive away.

Fantastic stay. The staff were excellent. The breakfast was incredible especially for the price paid. I had a call on the day of my stay to ask what time I'd be checking in, when I said ~9pm they advised that the kitchen would be closing and that I should grab food on the way which I thought was really sweet. Super convenient for anyone wanting to climb Snowdon.

The location of the hostel is incredible, at the top of the pass and at the base of the Pyg and Miners tracks up Snowdon. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check in. Our room was very small but the beds were comfortable and we were warm, so not much to complain about really. We used the restaurant for dinner which served up pretty reasonable food which arrived quickly
