“Very good”

It was surrounded by countryside but near to villages. The views from the hot tub were amazing.

“Fab stay in the Forest of Dean!”
13 Jul 2025
Lynda was a very friendly and welcoming host. The Brambles felt like home from home and was fully equipped with oven/stove, microwave, toaster and a fridge. There was also plenty of kitchen utensils available both for indoor and outdoor use. Free parking in front of the property. Welcome basket of eggs, coffee, marmalade as well as a lovely bottle of home made wine and apple juice, both were delicious! She had also very kindly left us some milk. The Brambles is nestled in the Countryside but close to the Village of Little Dean. Local amenities including an off license/convinience store, a pub and a fish and chip shop. We didn't get chance to use the pub but it always looked busy. We did have fish and chips one evening which were lovely. There are also supermarkets within a 10 to 15 min drive (Cinderford and Coleford) Bed was very comfy and all areas clean. We stayed during the very hot weather but a fan was provided and there are plenty of windows for ventilation. There is a TV and sky box though we didn't use this as we wanted a break and instead played games. One evening we sat out the front of the property on the provided benches whist we played games and enjoyed our fish and chips. The property is surrounded by fields and woodland and a bonus of private hot tub. Plenty of walks locally but also further a field. We went to Puzzlewood and also Forest of Dean sculpture trail. We popped into Speech House and enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea and sandwich after our long walk. One of the main reasons for our visit was for kayaking and wild swimming on the river Wye. We have our own kayaks, however there are places that hire these out to the public. The Forest of Dean is a great place to see wildlife especially bird watching. Plenty of Buzzards and Red kites. Whilst on the River Wye we also saw kingfishers.
