This was a great hotel. The quality and comfort are much higher than what its 2 stars would suggest. The hotel is conveniently located to the airport. From the airport, you get on the metro (red line) and get off at Saldanha, no changing necessary. The ride takes 25 minutes. (Remember to KEEP the yellow metro ticket you bought from the ticket machine because you can recharge the card.) This neighborhood is full of cafes, restaurants, shops, parks. Wonderful for walking. The hotel itself is quiet and uncomplicated. The staff will advise you on day trips if you like. The lobby is small but stylishly designed with modern design furniture and lamps. There is an elevator. My room was pretty large. I appreciated that the room had a refridgerator. There was also a kettle with packages of coffee and tea. The bathroom was clean and modern. I slept very well. It struck me how quiet the hotel was at night - either the walls are well insulated or the other guests are just respectfully quiet at night, or both. Breakfast is served on the first floor. The selection of food was large -- all kinds of cookies, rolls, ham and cheese, typical Portuguese breakfast sweets, scrambled eggs, bread, toast, fresh juice and fresh fruit. In particular the fresh fruit should be mentioned here. This hotel doesn't place a fruit bowl on a table filled with fruit. Each morning there were plates of fresh fruit in the buffet, all individually peeled and sliced by the staff beforehand : fresh pineapple, melon, kiwi. This involves a lot of extra work and shows how the hotel tries to go the extra mile. If you want a different type of egg, such as sunny-side up, the staff will make it for you too. The staff is very attentive to your needs. On the same floor as the breakfast room is a cozy living room with a comfortable sofa, chairs, etc. This was really helpful on the one day when it rained hard most of the day. I and other guests just sat in the living room to read a book etc until rain stopped.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The location is fantastic, just a short distance from two metro lines and conveniently close to the airport, eliminating the need for a taxi. The Red metro line has a stop right at the hotel entrance. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the breakfast was enjoyable. The reception staff was very helpful, providing plenty of information and clear instructions on how to navigate the area.
