The fine print
Please note that guests have free access to the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and Gym, and can book and pay for classes, from 17:00 until 10:00. Use of the facilities outside of these hours will be subject to an extra charge of GBP £70.00 per person, per day. The package quoted is a nightly Bed & Breakfast rate, with an arrival time of 5pm. It does not include access to the resort, spa or facilities before the 5pm arrival time and after the 10am check out. If booking consecutive nights, guests are required to leave the site between these times. Guests are invited to stay on site daily between the hours of 10am and 5pm where a £70 per person per day facility charge is payable at reception on arrival. This charge does include lunch. Please note that additional charges apply for the use of the spa and restaurant facilities. Please note that after check-out, the use of the resort facilities will be subject to an additional charge. Hot breakfasts are available for an additional charge. DRESS CODE: Sportswear is permitted throughout the day. However, at dinner guests are asked to wear smart casual clothing. No work wear of any kind, including work boots, High Vis jackets or hard hats will be permitted in the dining or relaxation areas. Any person not adhering to the Champneys dress code will be politely asked to change. Champneys asks all guests to be dressed appropriately for the health spa. This includes smart casual clothing, a robe and flop flops or fitness wear. Should guests not be dressed appropriately, they may be asked to change or leave.

Lovely facilities for the spa, entrance of hotel is lovely with a little boutique with nice little gifts and products to pamper yourself. Spa has variety of different rooms and options.

I was really tired when I arrived after a long drive, The receptionist on the desk was truly lovely and helped me with my bags to my room. Room was on the second floor and was big and comfortable Lovely view of the lake. I used the pool which was lovely and quiet. The food at breakfast was excellent. Lovely business stay.

The room, the food and the ambience were lovely. The grounds were beautiful as always and it's nice to see ducks and geese wandering about!

Bread was good. Odd that the outside tables were not used until we got there and we had to clean the bird poop off ourselves. Not sure the tables had been cleaned in a week....?

Booked for one night but liked it so much stayed another night. Staff so lovely and helpful and the peace and tranquility at the hotel was just wonderful best nights sleep and it was quiet at night unlike other hotels I've stayed at. The lake is just beautiful and the grounds immaculate- the ducks are so funny and the geese on the lake was a spectacular sight to see!

Champneys Forest Mere is exceptional value. As a business guest complimentary access to a 5* spa was a bonus and set me up for the day. I also liked the 'Health Farm' ambiance of being able to wander around in a bath robe and flip-flops (provided) including for breakfast (excellent in terms of quality and choice) as one might do at home in anticipation of a heavy day ahead before getting 'suited and booted' . Staff were kind and attentive as I have mobility issues. Claudine and Emily receive my commendation - thank you both! My lovely room was more a parlour with a settee and good desk to spread and sort-out the day's business papers, computer etc. Finally, whilst it is completely understandable that the Spa facilities are reserved for the exclusive use of Health Treatment Guests etc, between 10.00 am - 5.00 pm you may need to be aware of this; but did not apply to me.
