We had a one room apartment with a kitchenette, small double bed, separate single bed and a spacious bathroom. The room was comfortable and quiet. The kitchenette had a stovetop and sufficient utensils so that we could cook a simple meal. The hotel is walking distance to historic Lindau and to a supermarket.

A simple hostel right next to the train station. It consists of two interconnected buildings, but unfortunately we did not stay in the main part, which detracted from the quality of our stay. We only found the kitchenette with a kettle when we were leaving; it is not in the main common room, but on the first floor. Although small, the building is very complex, with many corridors and narrow stairs, parts are connected by a bridge across the roof. Unfortunately, the door from the corridor to the bridge remained wide open at night, even though it was raining and windy. In our part of the building, there was only one toilet and two showers, one of which was broken, so it couldn't be used. When we arrived, the shower room was completely flooded with water and the sinks were clogged with towels left by other guests. In the morning, everything was cleaned up. Our room was nice, the beds were clean and comfortable, but the rest of the room could have used a thorough cleaning, especially the heating, which was very dirty, and some of the furnishings looked very worn. It was OK for a one-night stay, but for a longer stay, better have low expectations. I appreciate that the hostel was very quiet during the night and it was easy to sleep. We hardly met the staff during check-in, we picked up the keys in an envelope on the notice board. At check-out, it was necessary to pay the local tax in cash. We chose the hostel because of its location right next to the train station, but in the end, we always had to take a longer route across the bridge over the tracks because signs prohibited crossing the tracks directly at the station (even though there was a crossing there and the station is a dead end with no trains running through the crossing area), and we didn't want to risk a fine. But even with the longer route, the hostel is not too far. Given the uncertain availability of staff, we did not to ask to store our luggage after check-out and used lockers in the station.

The location is great, it's right on the lake and very close to the train station. Only a 5-10 min walk into city centre. The dining hall was nice and spacious and the rooms were big. The beds were perfectly fine and everyone gets a locker. There is a toilet then a shower and toilet on each level which doesn't seem like enough but was perfectly fine. The breakfast was filling enough and 7 euros (paid with cash).
