Julie “Excellent hostel for first timers to Lima”

This is one of the better Viajero Hostels I've stayed at, but book early to get a better room. The hostel is located in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, near many restaurants and a grocery store. The building is beautiful--an old colonial mansion. There are lots of spaces you can hang out including a coworking space. There are lots of activities organized by the hostel including a pisco sour workshop and salsa dancing. The best one was the food tour--you only pay for the food and you don't pay for the actual tour and the staff told me repeatedly I didn't need to tip or pay the guide. There is also a tour desk. You can pay by credit card and there's no service fee.

Beautiful building and good location. Lots of social events and opportunities to meet people (karaoke, food tours, language exchanges, meet and greets, classes). Room was super clean and comfortable!
