“Pompeii and Herculaneum holiday March 2025”
31 Mar 2025
The most amazing view across the plain with Vesuvius backdrop as your skyline. The home was in really good condition and very, very clean. We absolutely loved staying here. Beds and linen were very comfy, and the bathroom facilities excellent. If you like driving to sight see, then this property is well positioned for Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We had dry sunny weather all week, and at this time of year (March) visitor numbers are lower at all the above making it ideal for parking and accessing each place.

“Spectacular view”

Spacious apartment, clean and well maintained, in quiet location with fantastic view of Vesuv. The kitchen is very well equipped and stocked, including supplies for breakfast. Even slippers and bathrobes were provided! Owner was very helpful and responsive.

“Stunning view over the Vesuvio at the Casale”
18 Jun 2024
Stunning view over the vesuvio. Stayed over there for one week. Enough space to relax after being out visiting the amalfi coast all day. Useful to have a drink and food "bar" at home, if you need anything you can purchase from home. Car needed to go around terasse is big enough with comfy chaise longues

“Loved it!”
30 May 2024
We absolutely loved this property. The view is incredible and it was very spacious. It has two double bedrooms (both with their own bathrooms), a kitchen with a dining table, and then a separate sitting area off the dining room with a single bed. Plenty of space for our family of four. The property has a little shop so you can buy affordable basics to make dinner. The owner left lots of yummy treats for us to eat too including plenty of milk and juice. It is about 30 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant (a pizza place with an incredible view and very affordable). We loved staying here as it wasn't touristy at all especially compared to places like Sorrento that are absolutely heaving with tourists and very expensive. You can walk to an interesting castle up the hill. The town of Castellammare is a not very flash (again, especially compared to Sorrento) but we liked being away from the tourists and feeling like we were in an authentic Italian town. We did the Walk of the Gods (combined with a visit to Positano and Amalfi), a trip to Capri (combined with Sorrento), and a trip to Pompeii. We hired a car (which I think you need if you stay here) and the driving was pretty hair-raising. The Walk of the Gods is stunning but it was incredibly difficult to get back to our car in Bomerano from Amalfi (after catching a ferry from Positano) because the public buses were crowded and Italians do not line up to get on - people were literally fighting to get on. Very stressful. One thing that was a bit strange was that the owner of the property told us it was difficult to get from where we were staying to Sorrento because an earthquake had affected the train line. He said I could pay his friend to drive me one way for 50EURO. In fact, the trains were running brilliantly - my husband dropped me at the train it is cost only 2.40 EURO and took half the time of driving. We also easily got a train to Naples. Anyway, loved staying here and would happily recommend!
