Le Cro Magnon is extremely well located. It's a very beautiful house, with a garden shaded by trees. A few stairs take you to a private swimming pool surrounded by a well tended garden with mature plants, trees and flowers. It's pure magic. The owner comes regularly to ask if you want a refreshment. We choose the aperol with homemade limoncello. very refreshing! Our room was very Art Deco, with deep emerald greens and gold. A very elegant bathroom. Les Eyzies is a very quiet place, so no noise at all at night. We had dinner at the restaurant. I choose the vegetarian options, my husband meat and fish. Both excellent. Very French cuisine with a Belgian twist.

It is a nice old hotel in the wonderful town of Les Eyzies. We spent 2 nights there. It was the end of the season so restaurants/cafées were closing down. It is a strange fact about the Dordogne region that all restaurants feel you must eat foie gras and confit de canard. At every meal. This was one reason for choosing Le Cro-Magnon. It has a chef who is highly praised for his imaginative food. But...

A comfortable room in a beautifully positioned and decorated hotel. Run by two people who clearly put a lot of attention into detail. The outside space, the parking, the pool and the immediate proximity to the Cro Magnon rock shelter added to the appeal.
