First and foremost- the people are fantastic! I had so many great conversations even though my French is poor. Everyone was super friendly and the vibe in the restaurant/bar/local meeting place was great. I was working and fancied an hotel on the Banque de Loire. It has a rustic charm and you can imagine you are in the 1940s or 50s.

Efficient and friendly staff. Located, overlooking the river. Alfresco dining - the dinner menu had slightly different options than you'd expect, but good, nonetheness. Buffet breakfast was good.
