From the moment we arrived, the service at Riu Turquoise was warm and welcoming. We were greeted by a friendly doorman, and our check-in was handled by a fantastic receptionist who had everything organised for our arrival. Although we arrived early and our room wasn’t ready yet, she encouraged us to enjoy the resort facilities and promised to email us once the room was available — which happened surprisingly quickly, allowing us to check in earlier than expected. The staff throughout the resort were consistently friendly, and the facilities were convenient, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed in a classic resort style. The kids’ area was a standout highlight — the water play park was an absolute hit. Food and drinks were available almost everywhere, which made the stay feel easy and relaxed. I especially loved the daytime snack bar and the 24-hour bar with snacks always on hand. Dinner at the buffet was excellent, offering countless options each night, while the steakhouse became our favourite spot. It’s first-come, first-served, so I queued for about 45 minutes before opening, but both times it was well worth it. The resort’s app was a great touch, making it easy to request anything we needed. The stocked mini-bar in our room was also a thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated. A small note for improvement: Heating the pools — especially the kids’ club pool — would make a huge difference, particularly in the cooler or windier months. Riu Turquoise is located in a part of the island that can be quite windy, and during our stay it was also rainy, which made the pools less inviting. A semi-indoor pool area could help counter this and keep the pool experience enjoyable year-round. Additionally, more indoor activities for those rainy and windy days would make the resort even better for families. Overall, Riu Turquoise is a lively, well-run resort that delivers on fun, food, and family-friendly facilities.
