Kira-Lea “Superb”

Fauna Australia was very welcoming and friendly. The wombat cottage was spacious and suited our needs. The animals were really the highlight of the experience. We were greeted with kangaroos eager for carrots every time we left the cottage. The wombats and koalas were very cool and the nocturnal animals all made an appearance after dusk. Definitely worth the stay. I would highly recommend it was very hard to leave.
Lucia “Amazing and unique experience.”

The property offers unique experience to see and interact with typical Australian animals like koalas, wombats, kangaroos. We even fed the animals which was added bonus.
Mark “A superb one-off experience to interact with the animals of Oz.”

I stumbled across Fauna whilst researching places to stay on a trip along the Great Ocean Road. It's a small, privately owned and managed animal sanctuary that gives you a hands on, close up and personal experience with a number of Australias unique animals. The accommodation is perfectly acceptable for a one night stay. We met and fed kangaroos, Koalas (there are currently 10 on site), Wombats and Deer. It really did provide a one-off experience that you won't get in a zoo or very rarely in the wild. Kirsty's communication was excellent throughout and she went out of her way to accommodate us. She does an amazing job to keep these animals safe and healthy. Waking up to friendly, inquisitive Roos on your doorstep was surreal but the highlight was hand feeding 3 Koalas in the morning. The accommodation is reasonably priced and comfortable enough - but the real plus side to this stay was the interaction with the animals. I spent 7 weeks discovering Australia and this was definitely one of the major highlight moments. Thank you Kirsty for looking after us. Keep up your amazing and dedicated work.
