The staff’s kindness and attentiveness, the hospitality, and the overall experience were outstanding! The location and beach are simply perfect. Both the open buffet and a la carte restaurants offer excellent food. Wide range of activities are provided, from yoga to archery. The spa facility is top-notch. It truly has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. I'd definitely go back.

We booked a Family Grand Suite (two-bed penthouse) at the Barut Lara for 10 days, paying around €18,000 for an all-inclusive package. On paper this promised a premium family getaway, but in reality the experience was mixed and, at times, frustrating. The suite itself was spacious, with a corner balcony overlooking both the sea and pool areas. While impressive in scale, the interior felt bland and uninspired. The living space was oddly sparse, almost like a show apartment left half-finished, with a dining table and a couple of chairs occupying space that could have been better used for a bar or coffee station. For the price point, it lacked the refinement and flair we’ve come to expect from genuine luxury properties. One thing we cannot fault, however, were the hotel staff. Across the board they were excellent — warm, energetic, and extremely attentive. They consistently checked if there was anything else they could do, and this wasn’t driven by tipping culture. Their effort was on par with some of the world’s top brands like Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. Food & Facilities The food offering in the main hotel was broad, plentiful, and high quality, but the booking system for à la carte restaurants felt unnecessary and added to the “package holiday” feel. It’s an inconvenience you don’t expect at a supposed 5 star property. The Turning Point – Bayou Villas By day six, we’d had enough of the compromises. We decided to relocate within the resort to the Bayou Villas, and this was a game changer. The villas are what I would describe as true 5* accommodation (each one with a Sauna, Steamroom, buggy transport, private pool all over 3 floors!). The attention to detail here was on a completely different level, and it finally delivered the sense of exclusivity and refinement we had expected from the outset. If you are already considering the higher-tier family suites, my strong advice is to go straight for the villa. The price difference is worth it ten times over.
