Despite there being a problem with the hot water on arrival and me not getting the message , the hotel were wonderful . Lovely room , kind staff and would stay again . Breakfast very good value . Thank you

This is an historic hotel with great character in the centre of the beautiful city of Laon. As there were road works in the street outside the hotel, the owner gave me the choice of two rooms, suggesting that a room at the back of the hotel would be more tranquil. The location is perfect for walking through the medieval streets of this magnificent city. The breakfast was simple but excellent, with freshly baked bread. Above all was the friendliness and welcome of the owner. One example of this is when the owner realised that, due to it being a national holiday, there was no public transport, the owner very kindly offered to drive me to the train station, an exceptional experience overall, and I recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to stay in unique places of interest and character with welcoming hosts.

The hotelier was charming. Because we wanted to try and speak French, he spoke slowly and clearly, allowing us time to respond. He was very welcoming. The attic bedroom was full of character and surprisingly spacious. Breakfast time was very flexible: "anytime from 7:30am". The central location is very handy indeed.
