Lovely food and staff. Room was very hot no air con so had to sleep with window open. Did not get a great sleep as I am a light sleeper but comfy bed. Just the noise from the river kept me awake but it was very peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely come back.

Room was to a high standard, some of the furniture will need an update soon to maintain standard, breakfast was fine, dinner was lacking veggie options so was short of choice for my wife. Location is amazing.

Enjoyed our first stay at this hotel so we returned for another overnight visit on a trip to Scotland, as it’s handily situated not too far from the motorway and has both comfort and character. The heritage & history of the buildings and the walk through the wooded valley to the nearby falls make for a special location. Staff were helpful and courteous and the food was excellent. There was a wedding reception taking place downstairs on the evening of our visit so we even had a piano accompaniment to our meal. The hotel has a spa and pool: be aware that if you use the facilities in the afternoon, chances are you’ll be sharing the pool with little ones from a local swim club (not an issue for us but some guests may prefer a morning dip for a more peaceful spa experience) We would happily return to this hotel; it’s slightly more expensive than we would ordinarily pay for an overnight visit but certainly worth it for a special experience (keep an eye out for stay & dine offers). The hotel building is of a size and scale which suggests there are hundreds of bedrooms but in reality there are only a handful; it felt very peaceful during our stay.
