The fine print
1. Please note that there is a 3% charge when you pay with a credit card. Please note that reception hours are 9am to 6pm daily.2. Children below 5 years old is not allowed to stay in backpackers dorm although with parent.Lake Tekapo is surrounded by Alpine mountains which will be extremely cold depending on the weather. We suggest you bring more layers when you are planning to visit Tekapo from April to October. Kindly note that we are not able to cancel the booking due to natural disasters or road closures.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

We stayed in Tekapo Backpackers for two nights. Overall we are happy with the stay and the facilities. It's good for a short stay and it has excellent location.

Great location, even though it says shared bathroom it was a private bathroom which everyone shared which was a lovely surprise. Good wifi.

We were grateful we were given a dorm room to ourselves. Not many people were in the kitchen. Separate bathroom for woman and each bathroom with toilet was nice. The reception was nice and friendly with smooth guidance. Great location.

Fab location right by the lake with stunning view. The staff are friendly, the kitchen and bathrooms are pretty clean, and the beds are comfy.
