We spent three relaxing days at Meg and Gilles’ lovingly designed and spacious guesthouse during our journey. Surrounded by trees and vineyards, the Gîte offers a peaceful setting. It features two bright bedrooms, a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table, a bathroom with both shower and tub, a washing machine, dryer, private outdoor seating, and parking right at the door — nothing was missing. The artist couple tastefully renovated and decorated the house with their own art. We especially enjoyed Gilles’ colorful paintings and Meg’s beautiful patchwork creations. The well-prepared information folder was a great help in planning day trips around Blaye. We didn’t try the breakfast (available for €10 per person), but we’d love to come back!

My wife and I stopped at Chai Crann Piorra for one night on our trip to Spain. Gilles and Meg were very friendly and welcoming, and their Gite is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Gilles is an artist and some of his colourful pieces are in the house. We walked to a nearby winery (Chateau Perenne), about half a km, where we had a nice time sampling their vins Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux. Altogether a very pleasant stop and we hope to come back one day to explore the area properly.

Very clean and all necessary needs were provided. Huge garden with a view of the winery. Price affordable. Quiet neighborhood to release from busy city.
