Super spacious and comfortable room. Slept like a baby every night. One of the few rooms I stayed in that didn’t have a clogged bathroom sink. Fab.

This is likely our best memory of our entire Japan trip. The property is very nice, with large, clean rooms in the Japanese tradition. We had booked both dinner and breakfast and both were fantastic. The bathing facilities are great too, very clean.

The room was cleaned daily. The towels, yukata, and even the tea set were changed daily — together with a resupply of green tea and local snacks! It was the first time I slept on a futon in a tatami room and it was amazingly comfortable. The onsen was also a nice way to relax in the evening (there’s also a bath tub, but I recommend the onsen!). Staying here was a wonderful experience. The only slight downside is that it’s a bit far away from the historical eastern side of Kyoto, but we just took an Uber a couple of times when we were tired and it was late.

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful our stay was. We had a long day of hiking in the pouring rain which just kept on coming. Once we got to our room, we decided we're not going anywhere after a change of clothes (to the robes we had in our room). It was a lovely realization that we could book massages, enjoy the Japanese spa and have dinner under one roof. So we just did all that. Everything was perfect: The spa was magical, I sat there in the steaming hot outdoor bath alone while the rain is pouring and just closed my eyes thinking I'm in heaven... the massage was one of the best we've ever experienced, it was done while fully clothed so without the oily feeling after! And the dinner.. One of the best ones we had during our entire 3-city trip. We had to wait a bit and the kitchen was closing but they managed to fit us in just before the closing and we were so happy and content with the entire experience. Finally, our room was a very traditional one, futons on the tatami and a little table with a tea set and a sweet treat which was a great addition to the experience.
