Ryokan Overview

A 10-minute walk from the JR Kyoto Train Station, Takigawa Ryokan features comfortable Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. A public bath is available, and massages can be requested for relaxation. Guests can borrow Kimono robes for free, but will be charged for dry cleaning costs.
Each air-conditioned room features a flat-screen TV and Japanese futon bedding. Bathroom and toilets are shared, and includes a hairdryer.
Dry cleaning and photocopying services are available at the front desk. Bicycles can be rented to tour the historical city of Kyoto.
Ryokan Takigawa is a 6-minute walk from the Higashi-Honganji Temple, and a 10-minute walk from the Kyoto Tower. The Takashimaya Department Store is a 20-minute walk away.

“Great budget stay in Kyoto”

This hostel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station and offers nice, decently sized rooms at a reasonable price. The building is definitely old-fashioned, but this only adds to its charm, giving guests the chance to enjoy a truly authentic Japanese experience. If you're a fan of brand-new, aseptic, soulless chain hotels, skip this place. But if you're looking for something authentic, book it right away

Very clean place, very nice owners and hosts, you feel like a real guest there. Good value for money. Even daily laundry was included in price. I really recommend, good location too.

Everyone was so friendly. We really loved this experience. People made us feel super welcomed. Even if the bathrooms are shared it was very clean.
