Maureen “Superb”

Exceptional! I think it's good value for the price. There was a free shuttle bus to take you between the Ryokan and Hanazono station or Uzumasa Tenjingawa station. We got greeted by the staff who stayed attentive althrough out our stay. The location was wonderful. Very serene and picturesque. We booked the room at the annex with a private hot tub which we enjoyed a lot. They prepare the tatami beds while you're having dinner and take it back while you're having breakfast. Both meals were also exemplary!
Annie “Fabulous, would highly recommend for a traditional experience.”

The rooms were immaculately clean but still authentic - they didn’t look too clinical. Bed very comfy and the room was nice and cosy. The outside garden area was pretty and had a hot tub which was fabulous after the 6km hike along the river surrounding the property. The food was amazing - you will not be hungry! Traditional Japanese food and tea. Staff were friendly polite and really helpful. There is a shuttle bus which picks up / drops off at local stations - useful as our taxi was nervous trying to find it!
Samuel “Lovely experience of authentic food and onsen.”

Authentic Japanese, as far as a Westerner could understand anyway! Dinner and breakfast displayed a range of unique Japanese dishes which were enjoyable. Wearing yukata and slippers around the hotel was a pleasant part of the experience, even if wearing the slippers was a bit tricky! Private bath (onsen) was just as expected and allowed a relaxing part of a busy trip. Staff were excellent and truly showed Japanese hospitality well and couldn’t do anything more for you.
Adam “You have to visit.”
