Everything was almost perfect. The only part that let it down was trying to find it, trying to find the reception desk and the location of it. But for the price and everything else made up for it.

You get what you pay for and the hotel being a “love hotel” is an experience in itself. The only issue we had was the locking system you have to dial ahead for them to unlock your room. This means once we were in our room we were locked in and Everytime we wanted to leave I had to dial reception for them to unlock the door. Just made me feel a bit uneasy knowing we physically couldn’t get out unless we were let out if an emergency happened etc. other then that the place was clean (it did smell like cigarette smoke inside the room but I guess that comes with territory with the type of hotel it was) but staff were friendly and great. It was just the locking of the door that got me.

Would definitely recommend for couples. The walk to and from the closest station was the only downside as Kyoto is still quite cold in the Springtime. It's a cool place to stay though, the staff were all helpful and happy to use translation apps if you don't speak japanese. Cool style to the room and very spacious. Facilities were great and the breakfasts we got each day were very nice with heaps of options 10/10 would stay again!
