Mixed experience – friendly staff, great location, but poor room quality The staff was friendly, and it was convenient to do laundry with coins in the lobby. The room was reasonably clean, and the location was a plus and led straight into the charming neighborhood, perfect for exploring the city.

This review is written after our entire trip to Japan. This place is the best value for money for us for our entire Japan trip. We also loved that there is a nice and quaint river on the path to get to the hotel. Location is very close to bus and train stations but is still in a quiet neighbourhood. Having said this though, during our time in Kyoto, we noticed a lot of available accommodation that we didn't see in Booking.com and I think there are quite a lot of options that are in even better locations.
