The place is beautifully decorated and you definetely feel immersed in Japanese culture. The host was extremely kind and helpful, helping us in many ways. We felt very welcomed and were very sorry to leave after our week stay. His beautiful dog Shin was also very friendly! Arigato gozaimasu!

Very lovely, family-run place. We really liked the spacious room, the historic atmosphere, and the big bathtub. We immediately felt very welcome and at home. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, which is great in a busy city like Kyoto. At the same time, it is still central enough to reach all the important spots conveniently. Overall, a big recommendation.

Fabulous, safe, quiet location tucked in a little neighborhood. Easily walkable to Gion, Pontchi-dori and bus access anywhere. Lovely, caring, helpful owner. Old Japan experience if that’s what you’re looking for. Loved coming back each of our four nights.

What a wonderful stay. A real highlight for us on our holiday. Beautifully renovated by the owner who was exceptionally kind. Great position in Kyoto, quiet but near the sights. Takase recommended multiple things to do and book which were all brilliant and meant we got the best out of our stay. Thank you so much!
