Breakfast was good and the room quite comfortable. Location is great, right at the center of Kranjska Gora. Parking is for free. Staff very friendly. The pool is also quite ok, there is also a small one for the kids.

Location is perfect, especially if arriving by car to Kranjska Gora (you exit a roundabout on the main road, and you're pretty much there). Parking is free for as long as you stay - you can come and go as you please. Breakfast buffet is fantastic and starts at 7am. Staff were friendly, everything is clean, there's a pool and small gym (sauna costs extra). I saw a negative review on here saying the hotel "felt like a relic of the 70s" - ignore the harshness of that review. The only 70s feel of the hotel is the orange tiled bathrooms. The hotel is clean, has everything you need and while not perfect or luxurious, it's the ideal stopover for everything this part of Slovenia has to offer. If you own or hire a bike, there's a "bike garage" in the building, this was very useful for us.

We booked Hotel Kompas as a last minute stay. It was off peak season so much quieter than expected but it meant we could enjoy the facilities even more! We used the gym which is small but had most things that you would need for a basic workout. The pool and spa were also nice and the buffet breakfast was fabulous.
