The last cable car from Nankai-Gokurakubashi Train Station leaves at 22:42, so you must arrive at the station by then in order to get to the property. Please check the train schedule from Nankai Namba Station to Mt. Koya in advance.To eat dinner at the property, a reservation must be made by 15:00 on the day.Guests arriving after 17:00 should call the hotel directly. Staying in a monastery in Koya is a rare experience, but for those who'd like to have that with minimal costs, there are two options: either room-or-bathroom sharing lodgings, or Sekishoin! You get to enjoy the privacy of your own room, for a reasonable price compared to everything else around. And, to top it off, the people here were lovely. There were complementary woven bracelets upon checking in. I was late to my breakfast, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it waiting for me (and needless to say, the food is delicious). There are also explanatory notes pertaining to various things in Japanese culture or monastery life, such as clothing or meals. Final note, the futon was super comfy and perfectly warm despite the cold snowy winter.
