Amazing experience. Food is very tasty, monks are friendly and helpful, the traditional japanese room has a great atmosphere and I find the japanese futon beds very comfortable. The onsen here is very nice. It was my first experience with onsen, so I can’t compare. I just wish there was more opportunity to learn about shingon buddhism and monks life.

Everyone was very friendly here and welcoming. The temple was easy to find and short was short walk from Okunoin cemetery. Food prepared with care and lovely to try traditional meals. Very quiet and peaceful stay. It was an honour to participate in the ceremonies, the fire ceremony felt very special. The rooms were cold initially but the heater worked well and we were comfortable throughout our stay. Thank you very much for an exceptional experience.

Rooms that we stayed in were spacious, even standard ones, much bigger than normal hotel rooms. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, helping and answering questions. The onsen was really nice with hot tub and 3 people could easily fit in. Dinner and breakfast were very good, with a variety of things for everyone’s taste. It is located just in front of the Okunoin entrance so very convienient if you want to take a night tour as you don’t need to spend another 20 mins walking back and rushing before curfew.

It was a great experience, the monks were very kind, the place quiet and peaceful, perfect after a tour in crowdy Osaka! Also the dinner and breakfast were a great occasion to know their way of life, and so the prayers in the morning!
