This is place was superb and I should've stayed longer. Kurashiki is a lovely town but I stayed overnight on a Monday where most restaurants are closed for the day, according to the host. The host is a nice lady who does tea ceremonies on the first floor during the day and gave me a cup of matcha tea aswell as a bean sweet both when I arrived and when I left. She also taught me how to accept and drink tea like they do in tea ceremonies. She did recommend me a place to eat called Koshiwa Valley which does European food and wine. The man there was the cook and the host, and was keen to talk to me as he had just visited London. The living space is lovely, clean and very large, the biggest I've seen during my first trip to Japan. The bathroom is also the nicest I've seen in Japan. When I left, the host saw me off and made sure I knew the way to the station, which is less than a 10 minutes walk away. I didn't ask about laundry, but didn't want to overstep and went to a coin laundromat 5 minutes away. The beds are futons that you lay out yourself onto the floor, which was a new experience for me.

Beautiful newly furnished building, right in the entrance of Kurashiki Biken historical town part. Good comfort, only some small items missing from the bathroom, but everything else is ok.
