So many things to like about this place ! Hosts - Mr & Mrs Jos are really warm, friendly and lovely hosts. Their attention to details is what makes the difference between a good space to a wonderful one. Breakfast - sumptuous and Mrs. Jos is a phenomenal cook. If you are open to exploring the local cuisine, perfect place to try it out. Location and property : for a couple, this is a massive space, and hols true to a large extent for a group of 4-5 people too. Water front location, idyllic and quiet. The waterfront property always adds a different charm. Also, the photos don't do complete justice to the place. The outdoor shower is a blessing and beautiful. Lovely little lanes nearby to explore , populated by different assortment of cats, leading up to the backwater/lagoon. If you want peace and quiet, be it a stayacation or just a space from the urban humdrum, this place fits the bill to the T. Also, it is not super far from fort kochi and can serve as a hub to explore the city and get back to. This was a good vacation for us and we were really happy to spend time here. Tucked away amidst the lush greenery and serene backwaters of Kochi, this place is a slice of heaven for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and experience true Kerala hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the natural beauty surrounding the homestay. Towering coconut trees, vibrant tropical plants, and the peaceful sounds of birds and water created the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The backwaters right at the doorstep are breathtaking — perfect for morning strolls, or just sitting quietly and soaking in the serenity. But what truly makes Gramam Homestay unforgettable is the host, Jos. A genuinely humble, kind-hearted, and incredibly thoughtful person, Jos made us feel like part of the family from day one. His warm hospitality, local insights, and attention to every detail made our stay feel effortless and special. And let’s not forget the homemade food – absolutely delicious! Every meal was a celebration of authentic Kerala flavors, cooked with love and using fresh, local ingredients. We looked forward to every dish, and it always exceeded expectations. The rooms are clean, cozy, and retaining a natural charm that blends seamlessly with the surroundings. We have fallen in love with this place and will definitely be coming back again and again. As stated in the private house. Tastefully and simply decorated with the ample space. Would be great to stay as a writer or artist and create a retreat. Lovely to be right in the backwaters. Food was good too and very reasonably priced..

3 days in an idyllic water setting, magnificent Birdlife, very private and peaceful with Jos the owner on hand for any questions with a lovely breakfast..perfect relaxation.
