Traveller reviews

“Remote and quiet. Good to chill, not to party.”

The ambience here is very sleepy and relaxing. The main common areas have plenty of shade. The outdoor dining area is really nice. The bungalows aren't new, but are very clean and the bathrooms have been modernised. Even the 'garden view' bungalows still face the sea and are a few steps away from it. The food was good tasting and good value - the small portions for soup were large. The staff were helpful and friendly - my family was stranded on a floating platform by an irresponsible speedboat operator and the resort chef kayaked out 5 times to retrieve us and our luggage.

“Superb”

Nice bungalow with good AC. Good food, very relaxed atmosphere. Very calm, no other places close.

“Remote resort with relaxing wibe. Worth it's low price.”

Very secluded, but a fantastic place to spend a very relaxing holiday. The resort is slightly run-down - there are ants in the rooms, so it could use some extra cleaning here and there. But it was good enough. The private beach is an amazing place to snorkel - you'll see a lot of sea life around the rocks. The restaurant is OK, and the breakfasts are miss or hit - sometimes there is a buffet (very good), but sometimes they offer it from the menu (which often took an hour to prepare - even simple items!). It's unfortunate that waiting times vary so much. The resort is very secluded - that's a positive and negative thing. Without a scooter, it will be hard to get anywhere. I read about people saying the island is walkable - no, it's not. There are hills, jungle monsters, and narrow roads with people speeding on corners. We walked to the nearest shop twice and ended up renting a scooter. Unfortunately, the hotel does not offer scooters, so you need to get a taxi to the city - something that the hotel should think about changing. Overall we had a lovely time there, and we have good memories. We'd probably stay again if we wanted slow, relaxed holidays. The time at the private beach was the best time we had on the island.
