We had the most beautiful and relaxing stay at Grainbank Mews. From the very beginning, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive—promptly answering our questions before arrival and offering excellent recommendations for places to eat. The guest house has been beautifully converted, and we stayed in both a king room and a ground-floor twin room. Each was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. A generous continental breakfast was included, with a wide selection of cereals, porridge, toast, and fresh fruit. It was more than enough to set us up perfectly for a full day of sightseeing around the island. We would highly recommend Grainbank Mews to anyone visiting the area and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we return.

Everything here was wonderful! The room was comfy, tastefully done. I love the history of the place and the beautiful buildings. Albert and Aileen were warm hosts, helpful when I was sorting out ferries and Aileen makes a fantastic fruit salad!

Location was good. The host was amazingly helpful. The room which includes a private bathroom with a shower was all lovely and very clean. The dining room was also clean and tidy which was great! The continental breakfast was ideal.

The owners were amazing…friendly, helpful and great B&B hosts. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also a great size with a good shower. The directions regarding finding the property were really helpful as it is a couple of minutes drive out of town and we initially had to find it in the dark. Parking availability is a bonus. In good weather, it would be easy to walk into Kirkwall. The breakfast was very nice and more than sufficient for my partner and me.
