Breakfast was superb and so hot. Granola was the nicest I have tasted with warm berries could not have been better. Location great for a walk and very quiet.

A lovely warm welcome when we arrived after a long journey and nice to be shown to our room and where there was a small fridge for general use in the hall. Delicious locally sourced food at breakfast - really tasty sausage, bacon etc. We really liked the cosy sitting room with a fire burning in the grate and a file of local walks of different lengths - with printouts that one could carry on one's walk. And a manager who clearly did the walks herself and could recommend. The dinners were excellent - a good and varied menu and delicious. We were a large walking group and they coped very well with getting the right food to the right people without delay. It's pricey but you can see what you are paying for.

Even more idyllic than could possibly be captured in images. Small cosy areas library area for reading, a drink, diner; wood fire always on. Most kind people. Perfect starting point for multiple nice hikes (for which they have great recommendations). Rooms are cosy yet bit small. British cuisine is marvelous

Warm welcome on arrival and room upgrade. Lovely old hotel with views over small stream and the surrounding countryside. Very quiet and rural and not far from the M6 so an excellent location for a stop over. Evening meal was delicious, good and varied menu. Breakfast too.

A delightful small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Warm and cosy despite the snow and freezing temperature outside which reached -6C one morning. The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent and the restaurant has a strong and well-deserved reputation.
