We had a wonderful stay at Samsara Desar in Batur, Bali and we highly recommend it! Putu and Gede welcomed us with open arms into their home, together with their lovely child. Gede, who is an architect, personally designed and built the guest area – it’s beautiful and full of thoughtful details. He is incredibly kind and even offered to drive us when we needed. The house is located right on the slope of the mountain, with a peaceful view over their family’s onion fields where they all work together. It truly felt authentic and special to witness their daily life so closely. Putu is an exceptional host. She speaks English very well, prepared us delicious meals, and took great care of us throughout our stay. Both of them showered us with kindness and generosity, making us feel at home from the very first moment. They also organized our early morning departure at 3:30 am for the Mount Batur sunrise hike, and afterwards we enjoyed a relaxing dip in the hot springs – an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much, Putu and Gede, for your warmth and hospitality – our time with you was truly memorable.

I booked a room with a shared bathroom, even though it was shared, it was always clean, the host also arranged our sunrise tour in Batur

Good homestay vibe. Beds were very comfy, the owners were very nice and welcoming. They helped us book a sunrise walk on Mount Abang that we absolutely loved.

The owners are very attentive and lovely people. Gede picked us up as our driver didn’t want to drive on the last bit of the road which was flooded. Gede also drove us to the hot springs. We enjoyed our stay and they organised our trip to Mount Batur. Highly recommend this place.
