This is a wonderful and historic place. The landlord Sue is extremely welcoming and the place is, without doubt, the most dog friendly place we've ever come across. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Royal Oak and certainly stay there again without any hesitation.

Part of an Offa's Dyke walk and this is right on the trail, so we were away the next morning. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the pub downstairs does the hearty meals that you need after 8 hours of walking. The breakfasts are good too. It's an old building and you can feel the history.
