We were a family of five, two teenagers 13 and 15 and an 8-year-old. We booked the cottage near Frogmore for a week not really knowing what to expect. However, the cottage was a really good size much bigger than the pictures portray and it had everything you could ever need for a self-catering holiday and more (Tea, coffee, toiletries, all cleaning products, bedding, towels, tea towels etc etc). The key was stored in a lock box so getting access to the property was super easy. There is a parking space which is located on a narrow laneway just a few steps from the property. The cottage overlooks a roadway which is busy but the noise levels in the house are minimal, and it did not affect us at all so in no way a negative comment. There is a small courtyard so you can sit outside, and we also used it to hang and store our water sports equipment. We were extremely lucky with the weather so spent every day out and about but in the evening it was nice to come back to the cottage and relax in such a homely environment and we even made use of the board games provided. The cottage is not suitable for the less mobile as there are various levels so stairs to climb but we loved the layout and the spacious airy rooms. The location is great and with Kingsbridge only a ten-minute drive for all your essentials and the Globe pub only down the road which we dined at twice. We also visited Salcombe, Bantham, Bigbury and many other places and all were within a relatively short drive. The owners were very friendly helpful and responsive. We would love to stay at this cottage again in the future as it really does tick all the boxes.

We have just enjoyed two weeks at Hillcrest, it's a very comfortable house, a little dated in parts but spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and everything you could possibly need and more . Superbly situated for beaches and nearby Dartmouth I would say ideal for a family with children and not as pricey as some of the more modern holiday lets in that area. Quirky but very good value for money for a summer holiday in a lovely part of the South Hams.We would certainly return.would love to know it's history.za

Lovely village, not far to the beach, which was beautiful. Torcross 10 minutes drive.
